Simple Tips!

  • Be patient!
  • It's a school-wide program, it works much better when students know the expectations in every class
  • Stop YELLING!
  • Use the "Clip System" wisely. Meaning you have rules in your class, follow them, don't get angry and move their clip down
  • Make "Essential Agreements" with your students and have them sign it so they are aware of why they are moving their clip up or down.
  • PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE!
  • The students touch their clip not you, if they refuse move it down twice, this usually gets them to do it
  • Be consistent!
  • Remember, this is not a system to hurt children, but to teach them to stick to the rules and to realize that doing the right behavior gets much more attention than the wrong behavior.
  • REMEMBER: treat students how you want to be treated, you don't have to yell or be mea, no matter frustrated you are, to correct behavior
